Tennessee Released Inmates is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody or release, release a person, accept bond, or retrieve an official record. Contact the agency that owns the record for those services.
Choose the Record Owner
A Tennessee release may come from a county jail, a TDOC prison, or a federal custodian. Use TDOC FOIL for a current or former state felony offender. Historical TDOC files are requested through the department's archived offender-record process. The Tennessee Board of Parole holds hearing records, while each sheriff and court clerk keeps its own local records. Do not send Social Security numbers, full birth dates, medical details, or other sensitive identifiers in a general site message.
- For a county-jail release, choose the county in the County Directory and follow its sheriff or records route.
- For the fields and request steps at both state and county levels, use the Tennessee release-record overview.
- For active community supervision, consult Tennessee parole and probation and the TDOC office locator.
- For a named jail or prison, find it in the Facility Directory.
- For a released or discharged state prisoner, follow the TDOC offender search.
- For federal custody, use the BOP Inmate Locator; for immigration custody or a recent ICE release, use the ICE detainee locator.
